The energy transition is in full swing; rooftops are being filled with solar panels. But what about the circular transition in this area? Newly recyclable solar panels are being designed on Dutch soil and the second-hand market is gaining momentum. However, this applies only to the solar panels themselves and not to the mounting systems and houses of the panels. There are opportunities here and for this reason we started a CIRCO Track last November regarding this flow of parts and raw materials. This requires cooperation in the chain. Therefore, six weeks ago, a nice group of companies from the chain, namely: Sunbeam, Stichting ZonNext, Van der Valk Solar Systems, apt Extrusions B.V., Enstall A&M Recycling, Libra Energy, and Brink Industrial BV, gathered around the table to think in terms of solutions and opportunities. In three sessions focused on forming new collaborations, deepening knowledge and exploring opportunities, they gained deeper insight into the circular economy and how it can be integrated into their operations. On December 7, 2023, the participants presented their plans and outcomes in six pitches in order of the chain: from beginning to end - from raw materials supplier, to parts producer, supplier, wholesaler and recycler.
