Tuesday, May 16th BlueCity’s How to Biodesign had its very first live meet-up. In the former tidal wave pool like-minded biodesigners came together to discuss the ‘Spinning of Future Threads’. Textiles are everywhere, you wear them, you sleep under them, you sit on them, you clean with them. The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world and the clothing industry is growing fast. This has major consequences for the environment: about 4 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the clothing and shoe industry. This can, and should, be done differently.
